Rollei AFM 35 | New York | Ilford Delta 400

I must say I am not a fan of my own work when I shoot in black and white. I shot about 15 rolls in over 10 years and every single one of them I felt a yearning for color. Yes 15 rolls is pretty close to zero and I understand I haven’t giving black and white film photography a fair chance, but I shoot film for a personal satisfaction and I don’t get my usual satisfactory feeling with black and white. Honestly it doesn’t get me excited and I don’t feel any awe.

This isn’t a blanket statement about black and white film photography, I have the ability to appreciate black and white works of others just not my own. Anyway here’s one of those rolls, I don't have much to say about it other than it was another attempt to spark some inspiration in myself for black and white but it has yet to come.

I shot this with some Ilford Delta 400 on my Rollei AFM 35 which I have written about before here: Rollei AFM 35: The Good, The Bad, And The Klasse. The shots are from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Harlem, and the finished the roll in Los Angeles.
