Alfred Stieglitz - 19th Century Photographer T-Shirt
Alfred Stieglitz was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1864. He got his first camera at 18 years old after moving to Berlin, Germany and being exposed to photography at the Technische Hochschule University where he studied mechanical engineering. He wrote on photography for publications and nestled himself in the elite European photography circles circles through his impressionist-like images. He moved to New York city where he started Camera Works Magazine and he popularized the photography as a legitimate form of artistic expression - before him photography was typically regarded as purely historical records.
