Film: Revolog Kolor 35mm Film
Lens: Zeiss Planar 45mm f2 Contax G Mount Lens
A few weeks before a trip to Los Angeles when in Brooklyn I had met with Hannah and Michael from Revolog Film. They gave me a roll of Revolog Kolor and Revolog Texture 35mm film. I recently purchased my second Contax G1 camera and lens - I didn’t need it but it was a good deal so I was happy to shoot in until I found a seller. I found someone rather quickly and before I met them I was able to shoot a roll out at my friends property in Joshua Tree, California.
I will say upfront I am not a “special effects film kind of guy”, but this film was awesome and I will shoot it again. The random gradients of subtle rainbow tint really added a nice mood for a roll shot in the hot California desert which is already full of warm colors and interesting textures. A few times I felt it overpowered my image, but mostly the effects of the Revolog Kolor film added something complementary to my image. And after all isn't a little wonder and surprise what film is all about?
